I was doing my research for my gem essay and i came across a new term: wapanese
Wapanese
“Wapanese” are decidedly caucasian individuals who, by means of thoroughly warped postmodern acculturation processes, have come to the decision that it is in their best interest to act as if they were denizens of the nation of Japan. The term “wapanese” can be accurately though of as an analog to wigger. A whitey can be classified as a “Wapanese” if they are in possession of two or more of the following defining traits:1. Has an unhealthy obsession with shallow, saccharine and intellectually insulting animation shows (also refered to as anime by the nerd elite) originally tailored for young Japanese children2. Operates under the erroneous belief that every aspect of American culture is vastly inferior to that of Japan’s – even though 99.9% of Wapanese have never had firsthand experience of any sort with their preferred culture (in other words, they’ve never set so much as one foot upon the island(s) of Japan)3. Halfheartedly studies Japanese language and/or is a part-time practitioner of martial arts4. Has a sword (samurai swords only, of course) collection5. Is a Virgin6. May be afflicted with a terminal case of yellow fever; however, they constantly fail in their quest for Japanese pootytang7. Extreme cases may traipse around whilst wearing a “costume” that makes them resemble their favorite anime characters (this practice is reffered to as cosplay; cross-dressing and raging homosexuality is not an uncommon component of cosplay.Interestingly, Wapanese are generally though of as “failures” and rejects within their own culture. Social scientists such as myself speculate that it was their failure to gain acceptance within their own culture than has lead many a white geek to seek out Japan’s culture as a surrogate; however, they’d be shattered to know that the insular and somewhat racist Japanese society would be even less accepting of them than the people of their true and native culture.Wapanese munch on imported Pocky and wash it down with a bottle of Pocari Sweat.Are you a wapanese?

I just finished my econs tutorial and im so filled with satisfaction. yay

And my exams are all crammed between 25th-30thNov.

I just added all my receipts and i realised it tallied to a sum of $167.

But Im not feeling a least bit bad about it because it was genuinely retail therapy plus its been a long time since i spent so much on myself.
I love city hall because i get to visit all my fave shops and eat my fave icecream.
I feel so much better, thanks Jan.

The next few weeks would be real busy with 6 essay deadlines to meet and not to mention, exams' in a month's time.

Yesterday was good.
Spent the afternoon@ parkway with kingkey; played arcade, shopped around, meddled with halloween toys, ate yummy prawn mee and desserts and behaved like excited children fascinated over kiddish stuff. haha!
Ty gave tuition so when he joined us later, we all headed to night safari. It has been so long since i stepped into that place. The place has been revamped and it was surprisingly chilly over there. I felt so comfortable with the cool breeze caressing my face that i fell asleep halfway through the tram ride :X
Thanks to the kingkey couple that we've got free tix to the zoo! And thanks to merry barry for driving us all around while the rest of us slouched comfortably in the car seats, awaiting for the next destination. HEH
Im glad my nehbor woke me up in the midst of my nap to make me go parkway with them. It was a good break from all the books and tests and crap. But no thanks to her for barging into my room the previous night and taking an unglam picture of me sleeping.*ROARS*
Nevertheless im thankful for my A405 nehbud:)

Im in mood to blog about a "what i did today" post.. Basically cos im bored now and have nothing better to do..
The day started off at BK with dad and mum. My whole family loves BK brekkie; its ranked first on our brekkie list!
After that, we went to visit my aunt at the hospital before heading to church.
went vivo city with man after church! it was sooo huge but super crowded as well. shall go back and hit the shops soon!
There were silly fake policemen to direct people around the mega mall. But i tell you; the directions given are useless..haha just some gimmicks to lure more people to the already overcrowded place but anyway i think they are really hilarious. I wonder how much they are paid doing this..
Went home in the evening and left for the hospital to visit my aunt again. Then it was grocery shopping with gillian!! finally stocked up my fridge!

The cold war persists, not exactly healthy but as you wish.
Thank God for today because simple things can make a dim day brighter.
I met up with hong for lunch. With time constraints, we still managed to catch up quite a fair bit. I dont see you that often these days, but you're still my favourite teammate and my precious honeybun. And so, you are very important to me and i love you to bits! Stay close.
I went for a run with jan and had dinner and ice cream following that. I think i have an extremely sweet tooth. Within a day, i consumed too much sugar for my own good: ice cream, yakult, ICT, fruit tea, bubbletea, sweets, hello panda and tons of peanut biscuits.
Thanks jan for the company and cheer up! cos when things are down, they can only go up :) Stay positive and you know im only a call/msg away.
It is nice getting messages and be assured that you are remembered. Especially when the sender is somewhere far and beyond sight. It is even sweeter to be remembered in prayers.
I went for cg today and you know, its always nice to share and know peoples' experience and encounter with God.
When people fail, God dont. He is good, and He is good all the time.

It's such a complicated world out there..
There are many degrees and forms of friends.
some are plain aquaintances, some are whom you dont see often but always remember, some are long childhood friends, some are situational friends, some are those you see often but rarely talk and click, some are close buddies and feelings are mutual, some are just teammates, some are more than teammates, some are those who proclaim "friends forever!" but never live up to their words, some are classmates, some are more than classmates, some are those who only find you only in times of need and abandon you when life's looking good, some are those who stand by you through thick and thin, and some are..
i think i can go on forever;theres just no end to it. See, it is not that simple out there.
Of course, there are overlaps.
Dont get me wrong. I like all my friends, but i only love a few. The few whom i can totally be at ease with and there's just no need to have a smile plastered to my face when i am down or angered. The few whom i do not need to hesitate telling anything to, they are the ones whom i can talk about anything under the sun with. You know they wear no mask and are as true as you are to them. These are the ones who love you and will be there no matter what your mood is, how ugly you feel, what shit situation you are caught in or even after a quarrel. They remain true; thouroughly genuine in every stage of your life.
Precious and few, but close to and deep in my heart.

It was a fulfiling day. And speaking of which, i havent done so many things within a day for some time. Let's see: I woke up early for handball trials which lasted 2 hrs, had a quick shower and left for church for fellowship. Then i met qy arif and kahyee for dinner at adam's before heading to hc for maf. We took pics, appreciated the nice light settings, bumped into many familiar faces, had a good chat with Mr Teh(who apparently still frequents our class blog, haha), had catching up sessions with friends, and reminiscise the good old days. Nostalgic, i tell you. Its amazing how the class peeps can laugh at the same things over and over again each time we talk about it. hahas. Anyway, the day ended at island creamery which was as usual, packed on weekends. Anyway, i love their local flavours and the cosy and homely layout of the place!

We are soooo klutz! Alison almost lost our tickets studs in the toilets, i dropped 2 pairs of earrings which i bought, alison "lost" her money somewhere and somehow and i dropped my entire laptop and left it crashing to the ground(thank gdness its still working unless it decides to die on me a few days later. Well, we will see)
John Tucker must die aint too fanastic, a very typical chick flick. But chick flicks never lose their appeal to people like me.
Nonelessness, it was a fun day out with the sisters! Anyway, i didnt know cine is so happening on friday nights, and you can actually book private rooms to play com, sing ktv, watch tv, play games and all..
They headed home while i went back to hall cos theres handball trials in the morning. There is no one in my wing now, with the exception of the few foreigners and freshmen. Zes, key and stacy are out raceeing for night cycling while amelia and gillian have gone home.
Im all alone!! And its 4am now:(

hooooray!
This week is over! It was tiring running to and fro to give tuition, while having midterm tests and going to the hospital to visit kuku. And yes, im still sick:(
Though i still have one last tuition to go, some com stuff to settle, one make up midterm, several meetings and some work to be done by next week.
And the arrival of october means the month of essays; ive like 7 essays due this month.
Library shall be the new hang out!!

I just realised that it was children's day yesterday.
My kid said thats why they have no school today.
And i was thinking to myself..wow..children's day..i almost forgot that this occasion is still in existent, but it seems like yesterday when we celebrated this day in primary school with teachers putting up various performances to make us kiddies happy and laugh. We sang kiddish songs, wore our home clothes to school, ran about and had no worries to bother us with.
Since then, eight years have passed.
Another eight years, im perhaps close to stepping into another stage of life.
But somehow, i feel that even as we grow older, there's always a child in everyone; this side of us that seeks enjoyment from simple pleasures of life and indulges in childishness of some sort once in a while. And when happiness seeks us on some days, we smile like a child sucking a lollipop and wish this moment never ends but freezes into eternity..
Alriiight. Im getting back to the notes:)

rather amusing, isnt it?
im sick sick sick sick.....growls. Down with a bad flu, sorethroat and fever. So i had to give church a miss and forgo giving tuition. I dont wish to pass it to my kid who will be having psle this week. But ill still go to his place tomorrow. I need ample rest and im studying econs in my bed. Progress isnt too bad.
